Why "Journey to Japan"?
Japanese art blends beautiful, long-standing traditions with exciting, modern styles that influence artists all over the world. Our camp introduces your child to the unique aspects of Japanese art—from the cute pen strokes of Kawaii and the careful folds of origami, to the bold styles of contemporary manga and anime. Campers not only learn about art—they dive into cultural practices that develop patience, attention to detail, and a deeper love for artistic creation. But we don't stop there!
What's Included?
- Hands-On Learning: Your child will delve into a variety of artistic projects using different mediums to express their unique artistic visions. They will explore traditional Japanese techniques such as Kawaii, origami, and landscape painting. They’ll also experiment with contemporary forms like manga art.
- Exploration of Art History: Each young artist will embark on a historical journey through Japan's rich artistic landscape. They’ll learn about the evolution of Japanese art from its classical roots to its influential modern expressions, creating their own artworks inspired by the lessons they’ve absorbed.
